Kindergarten Mandarin Teacher ( MANDARIN  PROGRAM )

Ni Hao, Wo Shi Hong Lao Shi. (Hi! I am Ms. Hung.) I was born in Taiwan and acquired my multiple-subject teaching credential, with bilingual, cross-cultural, language and academic development certificate in Mandarin, through University of California, Irvine. I am teaching kindergarten Mandarin immersion this year. Prior to joining Broadway Elementary, I also taught kindergarten, first, second, third, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades at other districts. I enjoy working with children and am passionate about teaching, with a goal for my students to reach academic excellence.

It is very true that “student success depends on the teacher more than on any other factor” (Mathematics Framework for California Public Schools). I have always believed that a teacher can either be a way in providing, or a wall in hindering students a rich, positive learning environment where students can successfully construct and elaborate their knowledge constantly.

I also strongly believe that every child is gifted in multiple ways. It is my responsibility to help each student discover and appreciate who he/she truly is and provide all students equal opportunities to actively explore and learn. My ultimate goal is to prepare and motivate my students to be contributing global citizens and life-long learners.

I feel very honored and privileged that we will be working together to make learning fun and exciting for our children in this innovative program. Let’s roll!
