The Bogart Award
Ms. Bogart was a dedicated teacher at Broadway for over 20 years. Although a local newspapers once called her “one of the toughest teachers at Broadway,” her style was personal and caring. She insisted that her 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students work to their full potential. No one just slid by.
To honor Ms. Bogart, who died during summer of 1989, and her dedication to learning, Ms. Bogart’s family and friends established a scholarship fund in her memory, recognizing and awarding individual 5th and 6th grade students with a $500 saving bond.
