Broadway Elementary School is committed to preparing our students for the 21st century by providing our students with the tools of the future. During the last several years, the school has focused on incorporating technology into our daily instruction. Every teacher has a laptop, an LCD projector, and a digital document reader so they can bring their lessons to life through the use of the internet.
Our students in grades K-3 participate in an interactive literacy program, iStation, where they work at their individual level on phonics and decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension. Student laptops are shared by the 4th and 5th grade students.
Our goal is to have student laptops in classrooms school-wide. Our teachers continually expand their knowledge in technology through professional development and training. The School Technology Committee, comprised of teachers of various grade levels and administrators, reviews and revises grade level technology standards to ensure that our students receive the most current knowledge and training in order to use technology as a learning tool.
